8U – 10U Mini Division

WELCOME TO THE 2012 MINI SEASON

For those born in 2004 or 2005 (8U)
For those born in 2002 or 2003 (10U)

For those new to the Micro program, this will be your first opportunity to play on properly lined fields with fixed nets.  For those returning, it will be a chance to hone your skills and further develop your knowledge of the game.  As in years past, the Mini soccer program is comprised of two age categories (8U & 10U) and two gender categories (boys and girls).  The teams will retain 7 players on the field for the 2011 season – 6 players and 1 goalkeeper – and will continue playing twice a week at various locations throughout the city, including the artificial turf on the UNB campus.

NEW! Based on member feedback, 8U will only be scheduled for 1 hour (10U will remain the same with 1.25 and 1.5 hour slots).

The 11-week season gets underway with the first team event scheduled for Monday, May 28th (8U & 10U boys) and Tuesday, May 29th (8U & 10U girls).  If you would like to volunteer in any way, please feel free to contact the FDSA office at 451-1342 or by e-mail at fdsa@nb.aibn.com.

Team and individual pictures will be taken on Monday, June 4th and Tuesday, June 5th.  Harvey Studios will be on-site to take team and individual pictures of the players. A schedule for team-specific photo times will be created and circulated in advance. NOTE: Due to the large volume of teams requiring photos, some photo times will conflict with originally scheduled games and will not be played.

Parents vs Players Game

During the last evening of scheduled play (Wednesday, August 8th & Thursday, August 9th), there will be a Parents vs Players game. This has always been thoroughly enjoyed, so we encourage the parents to start their preparations!!!

Pizza Hut Year-End Jamboree

Conducted to mark the end of the season, distribute medallions and say good-bye, this one-day soccer activity has come to be a staple of the program.  This year the jamboree will be held on Saturday, August 11th on various grass fields throughout the city. Rain dates are scheduled during the regular evenings of the following week.
